2021 (D.C., Maryland, Virginia (DMV)) - “Bad Love”, a long-anticipated project from Music Giff walks the road from blues, through the crossroads, to the bright lights of rock and roll; listen/share

Blues, Rock, Soul, Gospel, and Country it is all there; and it feels really good!

Blues, Rock, Soul, Gospel, and Country, it is all there; and it feels really good! The album’s themes are laser focused on the trials and triumph of life and love. This album is ablaze with stylish salutes to greats like Howl’n Wolf, James Brown and Bruce Springsteen.

When asked about his inspiration, Music Giff stated,

I grew up in soul. My Mother has one of the most soulful voices I’ve ever heard. She is a gospel artist (Geneva Jones – “Mama One Day”). Having been a part of her experience, exposed me to many great voices. Otis Clay, Canton Spirituals, The Williams Brothers and lots more. So, this project allowed me to express many thoughts, while paying homage stylistically to her and other greats in the music world.

Bad Love, the album’s title track because of its blues roots and thought-provoking title, had been on the shelf due to the pandemic. A timely and chance visit to a Robert Johnson monument (a blues and rock legend), solidified the title. The song delivers - with deep, smooth vocals, Bad Love tells the story of, wanting out, then back into, a bad love. Bad Love, the album, is set to be released in May 2021. This is Music Giff’s first album and was recorded in Prince William County, Virginia in the DMV with one track produced by a talented teen, VoltSpeed (Robert Jones III), and the remainder with fellow Army Veteran Marcus Truelove. When asked what it was like to work with Robert Jones III and Truelove he had this to say,

Truelove, (which is his actual last name) brings vast experience from his years with the Army Band. Collaborating with a guy like him forces you to up your game. Throughout this album, space is given to allow instrumentation to shine through. That made the experience even more enjoyable for me.Both of these guys are multi-talented instrumentalist. Robert is my nephew. He heard the rough cut of Heal Me, asked for an opportunity to produce it and I loved what he did. You will too.
